Does Vitamin C Lighten Freckles
Can vitamin C be freckle friendly?
Hey friends! I'm looking into buying a new serum, and a lot of the options include ones with vitamin C. I have freckles, which I love, and I don't want them to fade away. I know people use vitamin C to help get rid of them, so I'm nervous. Any advice?

It depends if your freckles are as a result of sun damage or genetic. If they are sun damage they should fade - if you have always had them then they may fade slightly but shouldn't disappear.

I don't know how exactly, that's just what I read online. But I'm sure further research would help if that's what you're looking to do!

I use vitamin c and have had freckles my entire life. I still have them. They aren't super prominent but I attribute this to daily sunscreen use/staying out of the sun more than using vitamin c use.

Unfortunately most anti-ageing treatments deal with UV damage, so things like retinoids, exfoliants, and Vitamin C will all reduce the appearance of freckles.
I don't think they'll go away 100%, but you'll probably notice them fading. Nicole Kidman went from freckled to no freckles, but I think there were some cosmetic procedures such as lasers or perhaps deeper peeling involved.

Okay, I feared so. Alas, I want better skin. Thanks!
